Dennis J. Batcheler, age 59, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at University of Kansas Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis was born July 15, 1958 in Spencer, Iowa to Wesley W. and Jessie (Reed) Batcheler. He was a graduate of Bronaugh High School and worked as a machinist at Timken Belts in Fort Scott, Kansas for 28 years. On November 7, 2009, he married Patty Johnston Ihm in Nevada, Missouri. Dennis was an avid Sprint Car and Nascar racing fan. He loved to grill and was known for his BBQ Ribs. He was also a devoted grandfather to his 4 grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Patty; one son, Shannon and wife Darrah Batcheler, Centerville, Kansas; one stepdaughter, Josey and husband Rance Butler, Sulphur Springs, Texas; a sister Karen and husband Michael Anderson, Grants Pass, Oregon; and four grandchildren, Wesley J. Batcheler, Madeline Batcheler, Marissa Batcheler, and Harper Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Edmonds.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm Saturday until service time.
