Henry Lee 'Hank' Henson, age 86, Joplin, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 at his residence after an illness.
Hank was born October 4, 1931 in Joplin, Missouri to the late William Henson and Rose Stout Henson, and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He worked as a truck driver, mechanic and owned and operated G&L Towing for several years. Hank enjoyed bull riding, auto racing, NASCAR and attending wrestling events. Hank was a member of the Jasper County Sheriffs Association and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He married Gail Ann Rose on April 23, 1987 in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 9, 2015.
Survivors include his children, Opal Roberts and husband, Mike, Joplin, Jerri Ann Schrader and husband, Jerry, Joplin, Brenda Hargis and husband, Marvin, Baxter Springs, Kansas, Donald Routledge and wife, Melissa, Neosho; John Brewer, Joplin; sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeff Martin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Justin Routledge, Marvin Hargis, Lewis Arnett, Josh Woodward, Chad Norvell, Don Woodward and John Brewer. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
