Dean Linder, 88, Newtonia, Missouri, entered into rest on June 27, 2018 at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri.
Dean was born July 28, 1929 in Essex, Iowa, the son of William C., Sr. and Thelma (Elliott) Linder. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and then worked in purchasing and receiving at Rocketdyne and Teledyne. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and was a member of the Monett American Legion and the Newtonia Baptist Church.
Dean and Bonnie Lou (Cox) were married on Aug. 14, 1954 and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2010. He is survived by two sons, Patrick Linder and wife, Tammy of Seneca and Doug Linder and wife, Shannon of Newtonia; two brothers, Marvin Dennis Linder of Cozad, NE and Larry Gene Linder of Hazelton, KS; three sisters, Pauline Pope of Wellington, KS; Thelma Ndine Hirschenhofer of Ft. Mohave, AZ and Marcel Carol Dickey of Myrtle Point, OR; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Ladonna Armer; one great grandchild, Eric Peters; five brothers and one sister.
Services will be Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2 pm at the Newtonia Baptist Church, Pastor Doug Gripka will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Motes, Anthony Motes, Joseph Motes, Christopher Canter, Dakota Blake and Charlie Holder. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 2 to 3 pm.
