John Robert Ball, age 84, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
John was born January 14, 1934 in Noel, Missouri, son of the late Earl O. Ball and Sylvia Wright Ball. He attended Joplin Schools, and then served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Missouri Steel for over 20 years, retiring as a melting foreman. He then worked as an independent contractor doing all types of home repair in the Joplin area. John was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals for years.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two wives, Jeannie and Betty; a son, Kevin John Ball; brothers, Bill Lewis and Earl Ball; sisters, Irene McConnell and Jennie Mae Smith.
Survivors include his daughters, Karrie, Kristy, Kelly, and Kassie; brother, Donald Lee Ball of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Earline Dickson of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeff D. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Blind Association.
