Charles William 'Charlie' Keeter, age 64, Joplin, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home.
Charlie was born August 3, 1953 in Joplin to the late Don Keeter and Norma Jean Thompson Keeter and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He attended West Central Elementary, North Junior High and graduated from Memorial High School, where he excelled in baseball. Charlie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years, retiring in 2002 as a lineman. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and will be missed by all who knew him.
He married Cynthia Stratton on May 28, 2000 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include his children, Joshua Keeter and wife, Michelle, Crestwood, Missouri, Christina Blotter and husband, Kyle, Diamond, Ashli Leishing and husband, George, Joplin; step daughter, Vallerie Gilbert, Joplin; two sisters, Nancy Keeter Edwards, Raytown, Missouri, Donna Gardner and husband, John, Overland Park, Kansas; sister-in-law, Connie Williams and husband, Randy, Edmond, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, David Joe Stratton, Emporia, Kansas; and grandchildren, Brennden, Jonathan, Ansley, Winslow, Chloe, Jude, Evan, George and Gabrielle.
Services are planned for Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Gregory Mech will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-5:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alano Club, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
