David William McCune. Heaven called David home unexpectedly on Monday morning, June 11, 2018 at the age of 45. David was born on January 3, 1973 in Carthage, Missouri. He passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield several hours after fainting while serving during church services.
David was a deacon at Center Point Christian Church where he honored the Lord in service much of his life, working with children as often as possible and improving church services through sound, sight and light. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1991 and attended Missouri S&T in Rolla, as well as MSSU in Joplin, before he was provided the privilege of being employed in his dream career for 23 years at Leggett & Platt as an electrical engineer and the Electrical Hardware Systems Manager at the IDEA Center.
David is survived by his parents, Jim and Melba McCune of Carthage; his brother, Richard McCune and wife Melissa of Carthage; his sister, Lisa Daoud and husband Elias of Sarcoxie, as well as eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to honor David’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 15th at Center Point Christian Church, East of Carthage, off of Highway 96, then North on BB Highway, with graveside services following at Fasken Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14th at Ulmer Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to Center Point Christian Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home to assist in continuing the Lord’s work in ways that David loved and enjoyed.
