Jean Mathis, 80 years, of Pineville, Missouri passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Missouri.
Jean was born on September 6, 1937 in Noel, Missouri, daughter of the late George Fredrick and Beulah D. (Partain) Chrisman. She married Arthur Jr. Mathis on December 14, 1964 and to this union two children were born. Jean enjoyed gardening, going to the cafe and visiting. She will always be remembered as a hard worker and took very good care of her own children as well as countless others who would come and stay with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Jr. Mathis; a daughter, Regina Louise "Sissy" Mathis; her twin brother, Jerry Mathis; siblings, George Chrisman, Nina Davis and Lola Chrisman.
Jean is survived by her son Arthur Joseph "Joe" Mathis and wife, Crystal of Pineville, Missouri; her beloved dog, Tank; grandchildren, Sean Michael Mathis and wife, Cheyenne, Alexis Jo Mathis and Joseph Randall Mathis; great grandchildren, Shaden Mathis and Kelsey Mathis; as well as a host of other family and friends who will deeply miss Jean.
A Celebration of life for Jean will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Pineville Community Center in Pineville, Missouri. Burial will be held at a later date in the Tracy Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri.
