Lonnie Gene Crowder, age 67, Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his home.
Lonnie was born February 15, 1953 in Joplin, son of Harry and Dorothy Crowder. He grew up in Joplin, and graduated from Memorial High School in 1971. He worked for Empire District of Joplin for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2013. He was very active with youth baseball and basketball in Carl Junction, and was a former Athletic Director for the Carl Junction Youth Baseball.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially deer hunting. He also enjoyed collecting fire arms, knives, and old baseball cards. He was currently enjoying his time being involved with Cornerstone Church of Grove.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila Crowder; son, David Heath Crowder and wife Megan of Baxter Springs, Kansas; daughter, Holly Whitley and husband Mark of Neosho, Missouri; grandchildren, Ana Ramirez, Hunter Crowder, Kaylin Whitley, Lake Crowder, Sheila Ramirez, Mason Whitley, and Bo Crowder; his parents, Harry and Dorothy Crowder; brother, Montie Crowder and wife Rose of Arkansas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
