Bob Foster

Robert Cleveland Foster, 82, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning, April 16, 2020, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born February 5, 1938, in Webb City, Missouri, to the union of the late Cleve and Mae (Cunningham) Foster. He was raised in Joplin and attended Joplin schools.

Bob worked for Hyde House in Joplin and Springfield and last worked for Leggett and Platt in Springfield as a machine operator, retiring in 2000. He loved old TV shows and movies, playing horseshoes with his sons, listening to old music on his front porch and working large jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed the simple things in life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

On January 5, 1984, Bob was united in marriage to Laura Reeser and together they shared the last 36 years.








He is also survived by two sons, David Foster of Joplin and Rob Foster of Ozark, Missouri; additional children, Donna Featherston of Joplin and Melvin Ball of Moorehead, Kentucky; several grandchildren; two sisters, Marie and Betty Ann; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2020, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri, with Pastor Alan McCamey officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are David Foster, Rob Foster, Melvin Ball, Shawn Bridges, Christopher Lee Marshall, Steven Lee. Viewing will take place on Sunday, April 19, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
