Dennis Jones

Mr. Robert Dennis Jones, 69, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday morning, April 23, 2020, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after a long illness.

Dennis entered this life on October 13, 1950, in Harrison, Arkansas, son of the late Robert Barron and Della Mae (Flippo) Jones. He was raised in Harrison and was a 1969 graduate of Harrison High School. He was finance manager for several years for both Steve Spicer Motors and R&S Chevrolet. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was extremely found of the Chevy Camaro. He was a member of Christ’s Community United Methodist Church.








Dennis is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Linda Jones of the home; three sons, Robert Barron Jones and wife, Kelly, of Fort Myers, Florida, Brent Jones of Springfield, Missouri and Jason Cryer and wife, Jenifer, of Joplin; seven grandchildren, Robert Brendan, Bryce, Katie, Braydon, Abi, Sarah and Ashley; they are awaiting the arrival of their first great grandchild; two sisters, Judy Waggoner of Little Rock, Arkansas and Nina Starkey of Joplin; a former daughter in-law, Kristin, whom he was still close with; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin with Pastors Chris Sloan and Bob Dart officiating.

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Robert Barron Jones, Brent Jones, Jason Cryer and Braydon Jones. Tom Taylor, Pat Casey and C.L. Carr will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parker Mortuary. 

 Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
