Jim Keithley

James Lee “Jim” Keithley, 71, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Jim was born November 29, 1948, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a 1966 graduate of Clever High School in Clever, Missouri. Throughout his life, Jim resided in Marionville, Missouri, Galena, Kansas, and Grove, Oklahoma. He worked as a truck driver for many years and last worked for Aaron’s Factory in Springfield, Missouri. Jim was a simple man and enjoyed fishing, playing video games and watching Sci-Fi movies.

On January 22, 1971, he was united in marriage to D. Elaine Lambert and together they shared 45 years of marriage before her passing on February 22, 2016.








He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Abel; his mother, Ida Mae Wishon; and his adoptive father, William Thomas Keithley.

Survivors include two children, Ida Abel and husband, Alan, of Eucha, Oklahoma, and Kit Keithley and wife, Tracie, of Wagoner, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Kim Mootrey and husband, J.R., of Diamond, Missouri, Joe Keithley and wife, Diane, of Springfield, Missouri, Mike Daugherty and wife, Sue, of Republic, Missouri, Holly Eldridge and husband, Clemson, of Springfield, Jeff Daugherty and wife, Kim, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Jess Keithley and wife, Debbie, of Bois D’Arc, Missouri, Jay Keithley and wife, Denise, of Barnesville, Georgia, and Gina Riehl and husband, Bill, of Raleigh, North Carolina; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

No formal services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
