George Earl Lane was born February 20, 1946, one of ten children to Emmett and Janie (Gaston) Lane. He entered into rest on April 17, 2020 in Joplin, with his loving family by his side.
George served his country in the U.S. Navy and did three tours of duty in Vietnam, serving from 1964-1968.
He worked as a maintenance man for forty years and moved to the Goodman area in 2008 from Minnesota and then worked as an apartment maintenance man until September of 2019. He loved to fish, but most of all he loved the time spent with grandsons, Aiden and Silas.
George and Dianna (Karhula) were married on November 13, 1981 at the Peach Lutheran Church in Joplin and she survives.
In addition, George is survived by a son, Daniel James (Reese) Lane of Webster, Wisconsin; grandsons, Silas and Aiden; one brother, Vernon (Nita) Lane of Diamond; one sister, Alice Lacy of Grove, Oklahoma;a special niece and nephew, Patricia and Steve Friend and numerous other nieces, nephews and family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven siblings.
