Mrs. Judith Kay “Judy” Hodges, 79, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at her residence.
Judy entered this life on May 22, 1940, in Webb City, Missouri, daughter of the late Burl and Wilma (Womack) Burk. She was raised in Webb City and was a 1958 graduate of Webb City High School.
On December 4, 1958, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Hodges and to this union two sons were born. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. Judy had a loving spirit and was always looking for ways to serve others. She loved her family immensely. She enjoyed yardwork and gardening, bowling and going to garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings, Jack Burke and Pat Carter.

Judy is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Kenneth Hodges of the home; two sons, David Hodges (Lynn) and Doug Hodges both of Joplin; three grandchildren, Nicole, Eli and Chloe Hodges; three brothers, Don Burk (Jan) of Santa Clarita, California, Danny Burke (Judy) of Webb City and Fred Burke (Marzy) of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held privately on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Forest Park Cemetery with Barry Sanborn officiating.
Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are David, Doug and Eli Hodges, Dan and Fred Burke and Randy Hood. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parker Mortuary. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.parkermortuary.com.
