Retha Mae Kappel, of Noel, Missouri, 59, departed this life on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Retha was born on August 22, 1960 in Gravette, Arkansas to the late Jack and Dorothy (Wasson) Thompson. She enjoyed going for rides and looking at the countryside.
Retha rescued and loved many animals; she cherished time spent with family and friends. She would drop everything to help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jackie, Tim and Sandra.
Retha is survived by her husband, Carl Thornton of the home; son, Paul Thompson and daughter, Amber Kappel, both of Noel, Missouri; two sisters, Debbie Sanders of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rhonda Vaughn and husband, Carl of Anderson, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dylan Holland and wife, Nariah and Corina Holland; three grandchildren, Arabella, Nevaeh and Damien; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Retha.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her grandson and wife’s home, Dylan and Nariah Holland.
