Alida Ann Houston, age 56, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.
Alida was born August 14, 1963 in Fresno, California, to Oscar Pavelich and Joanne Smith and was raised by the late Oscar and Evelyn Pavelich. She grew up in Fresno, and graduated from Fresno High School. She worked for years with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. She started in the security department before being a train coordinator for several years. She moved to Joplin in 2014, and loved spending time with her family doing crafts, and gardening. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Alida was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael Pavelich, Ronnie Pavelich, and Scott Stewart.
Survivors include her daughter, Autumn Pavelich and fiancé Jerold Jones, of Joplin; grandchildren, Azjoni Harris, Julius Jones, and Journee Jones; sisters, Natalie Azevedo and Tammy Thomas; brothers, Randy Stewart, Bobby Thomas, John Pavelich and James Pavelich; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
