Norma Jean Leivan was born August 9, 1934 in Lamar, Missouri, the daughter of Willie and June (Bell) Cook. She entered into rest peacefully in her sleep following an extended illness on April 3, 2020 at the age of 85.
Norma worked at Wal-Mart from 1969 until retiring in 1986 after seventeen years. She had worked at the service desk and as claims clerk in the office. She enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren, cross stitching and attending Neosho Area Widow to Widow activities.
Norma married J. R. Leivan on April 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Shellenberger and husband, Vernon of Neosho and Cathy Brazeal and husband, Brett of Moody, Alabama; one sister, Billie Ann Percy of Jasper, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Neil Wayne Leivan on May 19, 2016.
