(From Parker Mortuary)Billie Brian McPherson, 65, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on November 25, 2021 due to complications from Diabetes.
Brian was born on July 15, 1956 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Billie D and Mildred McPherson. He graduated from Joplin Memorial in 1975.
After graduation he joined and proudly served nine years as a Marine, after leaving the Marine Corps he served twelve years in the Army National Guard. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and had a passion for helping those around him from coaching to volunteering his time.
When he was 29 he met the love of his life, Novita “DeeDee” Arehart. They fell in love and were married on April 27, 1986. Brian became an instant dad to two amazing son’s Andrew and Charles Arehart. As a family they loved taking family vacations each summer and the boys loved having Dad coach their little league teams. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Brian and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. He carried this legacy forward by teaching his grandchildren skills such as welding and how to do repairs on their truck.
In addition to his partner DeeDee; sons: Andrew, wife Amy; Charles, wife Misty; and Michael. Brian is survived by his grandchildren Austin, Andrea, Zachary, Christian, Alexis, and Austin; great-grandchildren Ava and Kacen; siblings: Elma, Vanessa, Greg, Alyse, Heather, Valerie, Stephanie, and Rusty, and additional family and friends too numerous to name. He was preceded in passing by his parents Billie D and Mildred McPherson.
The celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church 600 E. 50th St Joplin, MO 64804, December 5th at 2:00 pm. His family will be present to welcome family and friends.
Family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to Parker Mortuary for funeral and burial expenses.
