(From Bath-Naylor Funeral Home)Jeffrey Alan Brooks 61, of Asbury, MO died 2:11pm Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO following an illness.
Jeffrey was born June 19, 1962 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Phil and Alice Ann (Beadles) Brooks. Jeffrey attended area schools earning a Master’s Degree in Electric Technology. Jeff married Kathy D. Franks on September 1, 1984 in Liberal, MO; she survives at the home.
Jeff worked as College Professor for Pittsburg State University for 40 years. Jeff was of the Christian Faith; a member of the Aircraft Owner Pilot Association; NRA and KNEA Teacher’s Association. Jeff enjoyed playing music, flying air planes, hunting, fishing, target shooting and teaching others.
Survivors include his wife; daughter Emily Brooks-Davis and husband Trenton of Pittsburg, KS; sisters Kim Rainey and husband Phillip of Racine, MO and Kellie Brynds and husband Scott of Pittsburg, KS; nieces and nephews Kamri Dell and husband Calvin of Pittsburg, KS, Katlie Brynds of Pittsburg, KS, Keith Rainey of Racine, MO and Megan Wiseman and husband Russell of Racine, MO.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Dan Muter officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Shiloh, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm Monday September 11, 2023 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00pm Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Wounded Warrior Project. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
