(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Doris “Darlene” Chaney (Brewer), age 83, of Joplin, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Darlene was born October 31, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to the late J. Leonard and Doris (Eddy) Brewer.
Darlene married the love of her life Richard Chaney on June 15, 1957 in Dallas, Texas and he survives.
Darlene graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas in 1958 prior to working in retail and insurance, while raising five children.
Additional survivors include two sons, Michael Chaney and Christopher Chaney, two daughters, Donna Chaney and Lisa Leanne Chaney, and three brothers, Don Brewer, Eddy Brewer, and Freddy Brewer.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris Brewer, and one daughter, Joy Lynn McMillan.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Eddy Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
