(From Fohn Funeral Home)Clyde “Floyd” Parnell, age 76, of Neosho, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his home.
He was born January 10, 1947 in Mountain Home, Arkansas the son of Hugh R. and Dottie Mae (Coplen) Parnell. On November 15, 1985 in Joplin, Missouri he was united in marriage to Sheila Ann Burgett, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry Parnell and his wife Misty of Anderson, Missouri and Steve Parnell and his wife Denise of Neosho, Missouri; one daughter, Carolyn Parnell of Cassville, Missouri; two brothers, Harold “Lee” Parnell and his wife Nancy of Flippin, Arkansas and Charles “Darrell” Parnell of Flippin, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Amy Lankford, John Smith, Kristopher Parnell, Justin Parnell, Hunter Parnell and Spencer Morgan and two great grandchildren, Kannon and Regan.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Hubert Parnell.
Floyd attended school and graduated in Flippin, Arkansas. He was employed by WestRock in Rogers, Arkansas as a shipping clerk for 41 years from where he retired in 2012. Floyd and Sheila lived in Neosho, Missouri for 37 years after moving from Cassville, Missouri in 1989. Floyd loved fishing, mechanics and enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, especially the Cathedral Quartet. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville. Brother Danny Heupel and Pastor Rich Cummings will conduct the services. Burial will be at Burch Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in memory of Floyd.
