Stacie Carnahan

(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)

Stacie S. Carnahan, 52, of Altamont, Kansas, lost her battle with Trigeminal Neuralgia Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Stacie was born March 14, 1971, to Pat Downing in Joplin, Missouri. She grew up in Carterville, Missouri and later moved with her family to their farm south of Edna, Kansas. She was a graduate of the Labette County High School class of 1989.

Stacie was a talented homemaker and devoted farm wife. She also worked for USD 506 throughout the years.

Nothing was more important to Stacie than family. She was a loving wife, compassionate and caring mother, adoring grandmother, steadfast sister, and inspirational daughter. Her children best describe her as a wonderful, one-of-a-kind mother, put simply, the best. She loved animals of which she and Roger adopted and cared for many through the years. She spent countless hours preparing meals for Roger, Jerry and their harvest help, so they were always well fed while in the field. Stacie left no stone unturned in caring for the many people she loved.

Stacie lived life to the fullest and never shied from new and exciting experiences. She loved to shop, attend live performances, try new foods, and watch her birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. She enjoyed being in nature, and loved hunting with Roger. Try as he might, Roger could never match her skill in killing the biggest buck nearly every year.

On July 22, 1989, Stacie married the love of her life Roger Carnahan. Their example of a loving, patient and rock solid marriage stands strong for all to see and learn from. Roger survives of the home.

She is also survived by her son, Josh Carnahan, of Webb City, Missouri; her daughter, Kylie (Gavin) Rainwater, of Pittsburg, Kansas; her granddaughter, Isla Carnahan, of Webb City, Missouri; her sister, Stephanie (Kelly) Lattin, of Parsons, Kansas; her mother, Pat Downing, of Joplin Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her Pop, Larry Downing.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 1st from 6pm to 8pm at First Baptist Church in Altamont. The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Altamont.

Memorials are suggested to Joplin Humane Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
