Paul Jaeger

Paul A Jaeger, age 70, passed away at 8:04 am, Monday, September 11, 2023, at his home.

Paul was born February 28, 1953 in St. Cloud, MN. His parents were Thomas and Gertrude (Dye) Jaeger. He was a lifetime resident of Columbus.

He graduated from Columbus High School with the class of 1971. He later earned a Degree in Computer Science at Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, MO. He played varsity football all four years of his college career. He was recently inducted in the Columbus Sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid Columbus Titans Football fan.







Paul was a farmer for several years. He sold his farm in 1997. He was currently employed at Calibrated Forms, Columbus, a position he had held since 1986.

He was an active member of Center Christian Church, Columbus, KS, where he was currently a Sunday school teacher. He had formerly served as an Elder and had been on the Church Board. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially going Elk hunting every year in CO with family. His greatest joy was his grandkids and would often attend their sports activities.

Paul was married to Mila Jo Allen on August 2, 1975 in Columbus. She survives of the home. 








Additional survivors include one son, Nathan Jaeger (Amy), Branson, MO; one daughter, Stacey Harmon (Keith Pennick), Joplin; one brother, Larry Jaeger, Grand Junction, CO; 8 grandchildren, Gage, Riley (Nick), Gracie (Tyson), Caden, Layne, Katie, Maverick, and Colbie and one great granddaughter, Ember. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends as well as Tracy, Kim, Taylor (Evans) and Laney Brown who he considered family.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm, Friday, September 15, 2023 at Center Christian Church. Tom Goettel, Andy Peterman, and Justin Coberly will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS.
