Pastor Roy Kent Roughton, 82, of Pineville, Missouri went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 31,1940 in Bentonville, AR as the son of John and Bertha Skidmore Roughton.

Roy founded Harbor of Praise Church in Bentonville, AR and was the Pastor there for over 42 years. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, singing, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Roy could find humor in everything he did.

He is preceded in death by his late wife Ruth Ann Moore Roughton, who went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2015. Roy and Ruth Ann were married December 21, 1961. Roy is also preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Austin Roughton, Bobby Roughton, Steve Roughton, and Patsy Holliday.

Roy is survived by his wife Dee. They married February 3, 2016. He is also survived by his and Ruth Ann’s six children Arthur (Karen) Roughton, Brian (Raychelle) Roughton, Tony (Crystal) Roughton, Richard (Robbi) Roughton, Frank (Tiffany) Roughton, and Michelle (Ben) Lewis; his brother Ronald Roughton; his fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at Harbor of Praise Church in Bentonville, AR. Interment will follow in the Oakes Cemetery in Bentonville, AR.
