Rena Thrasher

Rena “Meme” Thrasher, 77, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri. Rena was born August 3, 1946, in Joplin, to Wayne Ramey and Lydia (Miller) Ramey. 

Rena was a dispatcher at M & M Wrecker and worked as a waitress. She was a casino enthusiast. Rena enjoyed cooking and feeding the family and friends she loved.

Rena is survived by four sons, Doug Thrasher (Kristi) of Carthage, Missouri, David Thrasher (Ginger) of Carthage, Donnie Thrasher (Tasha) of Carthage, and Dustin Thrasher (Camille) of Midlothian, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Rena is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Lydia Ramey.

There will be a graveside service held for Rena at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will follow her graveside service at Life Connections Church, 5831 S. Main St., Joplin, Missouri. All family and friends are welcome to both the service and celebration.
