J. L. Badgley

Jerome ‘J.L.’ Badgley, age 70 of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation. J.L. was born on December 31, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas to the late John T. Badgley, Sr. and Audrey C. (Moser) Badgley.

J.L. graduated from Joplin High School and later worked for many years as a Graphic Designer. However, it was in 1998 that he found his real passion in life as a Yoga Instructor. He soon opened the first yoga studio in Joplin.

‘Yoga-In-Motion’. J.L. was not a person to keep still and could be found involved in all things outdoors. He was an avid bicyclist, enjoyed hiking the back trails and playing his guitar with all his musical friends.

Other than his parents, J.L. was preceded in death by a brother, John Badgley, Jr.; sisters, Karen Badgley and Annette Mathes.

Surviving family include his daughters, Allison Elizondo (Brandon) of Austin, Texas and Gwen Badgley-Guilford (Dustin), of Carl Junction; seven grandchildren, Dylan Coots, Nicholas Moore, Gabriel Neet, Kyle Guilford, Kean Guilford, Jamison Guilford and Ashton Guilford; a sister, Cindy Badgley of Joplin and a host of extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin. Cremation will take place following the service and his ashes will be buried at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
