(From Parker Mortuary)Eric G. Winters, I, born on June 1, 1979 in Saginaw, MI, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 in Springfield, MO after a prolonged illness. Known for his selflessness, love, and generosity, Eric's joyous spirit and passion for life were infectious. His laughter could light up a room and his caring heart touched everyone he met.
Eric received his culinary education at Vatterott College and Franklin Technical Center, where he honed his craft and developed his love for creating delightful dishes.
As a chef, he brought joy to many through his culinary creations, always putting his heart and soul into every dish. Eric's passion for cooking was only surpassed by his love for his wife, family and friends.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Shari Winters of Joplin; his son, Eric G. Winters, II of Joplin; and his daughter, Baylie Marie Winters of Saginaw, MI. His brother, Michael Winters of Champaign, IL; sister, Nicole Winters of Champaign, IL; aunt, Shirley Hopkins of Canal Winchester, OH; uncles, Sam Winters and wife Joyce, Curtis Winters and wife Cheryl, and Daren Winters; and his step-mother, Laurie Winters of Joplin.
Eric was a loving husband and father, always putting his family first. He cherished the time spent with his children, teaching them to cook, sharing stories, and making memories. His love for his family was evident in his actions and the way he spoke of them. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his influence and memory will continue to inspire and comfort those left behind.
In his professional life, Eric was respected by his peers for his dedication and commitment to his craft. His culinary creations were not just meals, but experiences, bringing joy and satisfaction to those who had the pleasure of tasting his dishes. His colleagues admired his work ethic and his determination to always strive for excellence.

Eric is preceded in death by his father, Grant Winters, Jr., and grandparents, Grant and Flora Winters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 29th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
