(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)John L. Turley, 76, passed away September 28, 2023 at his home in rural Seneca surrounded by his family, after a long illness.
He was born December 8, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM to Roy Turley and Adaline Shamblin Turley Elsome. John attended school in Galena, KS.
John married the love of his life, Loretta A. Golden May 3, 1964 at the home of her parents in rural Seneca, MO.
He owned and operated multiple businesses in the Seneca Area, including the former Mr. B's, the former Seneca Dairy Bar, the former Seneca Lumber CO, the former Miami Truss Company. He drove for several bus and truck lines and also taught at Crowder College Truck Driving School, he retired in 2019. John was a member of Swars Prairie Church of Christ. He enjoyed coaching Little League and the Babe Ruth Baseball Team (The Reds). He also enjoyed going to car shows, working on his farm, especially mowing and spending time with his family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Jack Turley and Jim Turley.
Survivors include his wife Loretta of the home; three sons Johnny Dean Turley and wife Dianna, Seneca, Gary Turley and wife Kelli, Pampa, TX and Bob Turley and wife Carmen, Seneca; 9 grandchildren; Jammi Gil, Bobbi Eckert, Marki Cole, Lora Jenks, Brandy Madison, all of Seneca; Kaleb Turley, Carl Junction, Samantha Goldie and Logan Turley of Lubbock, TX and Emily Turley of Webb City; 19 great-grandchildren and many special friends and his church family.
The body has been taken for cremation.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 10:00 am Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Swars Prairie Church of Christ with Gayle West and Scotty Ray Yeakey officiating. Committal will be in the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery.
