Donnie Gruver

Donald R. Gruver, 68, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away and joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 18, 2023, at his home. Donald was born on January 6, 1955, in Carthage, to Harold Wayne Gruver and Betty Jean “Stahl” Gruver. 

Donnie owned and operated Gruver’s Backhoe and Tree Service for several years and was also an over the road truckdriver. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating, and fishing. He loved spending time with his grand fur babies, and they loved their “Pappy” very much. He didn’t know a stranger. He’d give you anything he had. He liked to make people happy and help others.

He is survived by his daughters Stephanie Gruver (Brandy) of Webb City, Mylinn Gruver-Eddington (Josh) of Springfield, and Heather Gruver-Hill (Ron) of Carthage; two brothers Bob Gruver of Oklahoma, and Gary Gruver of Indiana; one sister Sandy Gruver-Lowery of Carthage; his grandchildren Landrey Gruver, Logan Eddington, Lainah Eddington; and grand fur babies Sheldon, Chloe, and Bink.

Per the family’s wishes, Donald will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
