(From Meadors Funeral Home)Debra Sue Langley, 66, passed away peacefully on March 13th 2026 at her home in Mt Vernon, MO, surrounded by her loving family by her side. She was born November 22, 1959, in Beeville TX, to Floyd Langley and Unie Everett (Letts) Langley.
She accepted the Lord and Savior at an early age and was saved and baptized at Hurley Baptist Church. She attended Mt Vernon Christian Church in Mt Vernon Mo every chance she got.
Debra (Debbie or Deb) was a 1977 graduate of Hurley High School and Valedictorian. That same year on November 25, she married the love her life Jeffrey Langley.
Debbie worked at Evans Collar for over 31 years; she retired in 2023. She spent her time going to the lake, fishing, camping, and deer hunting. She was an avid golfer and would go golfing with the “Ol Betty’s” every chance you got. She was actively involved with the Mt Vernon Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for many years, where she held multiple positions. One of her biggest accomplishments with the Mt Vernon Eagles Ladies Auxiliary was hosting the annual Pig and Par golf tournament for the last 23 years. She was outgoing and never missed an opportunity to meet new people. She had the most contagious smile that brightened any room.
Her life was complete once she became known as “granny”. She absolutely loved having her grandkids over for sleepovers and watching their sporting events every chance she could. She enjoyed Sunday dinners each week when the family would gather. She was known for her cooking, and she was excellent at it.
