Donna Schuchmann

Donna Jean (Holmes) Schuchmann, 88, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Brunswick Health Care Center in Brunswick, MO. Funeral services will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Mark Schuchmann and Pastor David Smith will officiate the service. A visitation will precede the service on Thursday from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery in Brunswick.

Donna was born on October 4, 1937 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Schultz) Holmes. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1956. On February 17, 1957, Donna was united in marriage to RW Schuchmann Jr. at the Brunswick Christian Church. Together they were blessed with four children, Rudolph III, Robert, Rebecca, and Mark. After 57 years of marriage, RW preceded Donna in passing on July 9, 2014.

After high school, Donna devoted many years to being a homemaker while also working a variety of jobs throughout her life. Some of the roles she especially enjoyed included her time with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, her work as an advertising artist for the Brunswick newspaper, and later running her own business, Donna's Country Creations, where she created handmade crafts.

Donna was a lifelong member of Brunswick Christian Church. She served as a dedicated 4-H leader, where she enjoyed teaching arts and crafts. She also taught Sunday school and was an active member of the PTA. Donna had a deep love for her family and was especially known for her exceptional cooking, often bringing everyone together by hosting large family gatherings. In her free time, she enjoyed attending craft shows, painting, needlepointing, caring for her flowers, playing card games, and spending time outdoors.

Donna is survived by three children, Rudolph "Butch" (Mitzi) Schuchmann of Brunswick, Robert (Denise) Schuchmann of Webb City, MO, and Mark (Suzie) Schuchmann of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Justina) Schuchmann, Nicole Schuchmann, Lindsay (Bobby) Meyer, Derek (Krystal) Schuchmann, Bri (Michael) Long, Kristin Schuchmann, Jacob Schuchmann, and Joseph Schuchmann; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judie Knudtson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helen Holmes; her beloved husband, RW; one daughter, Rebecca Ann; and one sister, Sandra Smith.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Schuchmann, Derek Schuchmann, Bobby Meyer, Jacob Schuchmann, Joseph Schuchmann, Rodney Schuchmann, and Rex Schuchmann.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made out to Elliott Grove Cemetery. Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
