Sonnie Beerly

Sandra “Sonnie” Kay Beerly, age 84, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at her home surrounded by family.

Sonnie was born on August 24, 1941 in Webb City, MO to the union of Earl J. and Alberta V. (Allen) Greninger. Sonnie’s life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, John Beerly Sr., with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Together, they created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, dance, and song. 

She had a particular fondness for collecting Iris and Herringbone glassware, pieces that shone as brightly as her spirit. Those who knew Sonnie would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful. She approached life with a kind heart and open arms, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.

In addition to her parents, Sonnie was preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Sonnie is survived by her two sons, John Beerly, Jr. (Brenda) and Donald Beerly Sr. (Regina); 10 grandchildren, Cassy Beerly, Tiffany Beerly, Donny Beerly Jr. (Kabo), Dustin Beerly, Scotty Beerly (Shannon), Amanda Rogers (Phil), Justin Smith, Whisper Turner, Tebrie Cahill and Maeghan Cavener; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Valerie Southard.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Three Points Church, 17811 Old 66 Blvd. Carthage, MO 64836.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
