Dorothy Patterson

Dorothy Morine Patterson, age 94, of Granby, Missouri, passed away on March 21, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1931, in Granby to Benjamin Franklin Charlton and Melissa Ruth (Grimes) Charlton. Dorothy was the youngest of fourteen children.

She graduated from Granby High School and attended Baxter Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas.

In September of 1949, Dorothy married the love of her life, Jerry Patterson, in Granby. He preceded her in death in 2000.








Over the years, Dorothy worked at many places including JCPenney, Matters Jewelers, Dina Shack Restaurant, Neosho Heating, Patterson Heating and Air, and J&D Antiques. She also spent three years working at Union Chapel, where she cherished her time and the people she served.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Dorothy was a lifelong member and devoted supporter of Gospel Tabernacle Church. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for 40 years and worked with youth for 19 years, serving with 20 different pastors during her time in the ministry. She especially loved traveling and enjoyed the experience of traveling through 17 countries.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Linda McKinney (Ira) of Neosho, Missouri; Stan Patterson of Neosho; and Greg Patterson (Sandy) of Monett, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jenifer) Dale Gallemore, Chad Gallemore, Jera R. (David) Glover, Kathryn Patterson, Kendace Brodie, Deidra (Brent) Erskin, Graham (Rachel) Patterson, and Jordan Patterson; and her great-grandchildren: Allison, Rylea, Brynlea, Parker, Walker, Aimon, Camdyn, England, Nash, and Poppy, as well as her lifelong friends, Sue Ferguson and Dorothy Cupps, and numerous nieces and nephews.








She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jerry; an infant grandson; her siblings, Ella, Cecilia, Corrie, Frank, Jack, Robert, Obern, Wilma, Jimmy, Ruth, Mildred, Lewis, and Carl D.

Dorothy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, and her dedication to serving others.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at the Granby Chapel. Burial will follow at Granby Memorial Cemetery.
