(From Knell Mortuary)Virginia Lynne Samuel, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Carl Junction, Missouri. Born on January 21, 1943, in Riverside, California the daughter of the late Willam Henry and Virginia Louise (Charde) Stokley. She married Howard Samuel on November 22, 1974 in Riverside, California, he preceded her in death on October 9, 2014.
Virginia spent her professional years as a dedicated secretary for the Department of Defense. Her work was not just a job; it was a reflection of her commitment to her country and the people who served it. Her meticulous nature and warm demeanor made her a cherished colleague and friend within her workplace.
A devout member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Carthage, Missouri, Virginia's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement with the church community extended beyond Sunday services, as she embodied the teachings of kindness and charity in her everyday life.
Virginia's passion for life was evident in her hobbies. She found joy in the rhythm of her sewing machine. Her love for her cats was well-known, as she provided a loving home to several cats throughout her life. Music was another source of happiness for Virginia, filling her home with melodies that reflected the harmony she sought to create in the world.
Family was the heart of Virginia's world. She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Tiffany Lynne Sawyer, (Tracy), of Pittsburg, Missouri. Her legacy of love also lives on through her sisters, Mary Owen and Janet Sullivan.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Timothy Sawyer, and her siblings, William “Bill” Stokley, Alfred Stokley, Robert Stokley and Joan Crawford, who have welcomed her with open arms in eternal rest.
