(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Wilma Maxine Mallory, age 95, of Columbus, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Medicalodge in Columbus.
Wilma was born to the late Fred and Cordia May Jones on March 27, 1930, in Everton, Missouri.
After Wilma's graduation from high school, she was united in marriage to Wayne E. Mallory on October 28, 1949, in Greenfield, Missouri. To that union were born three sons, Michael, Jarold, and Thomas. He preceded her in death in 2018.
Throughout her life, Wilma worked at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg, KS, and Ace Electric in Columbus, KS for ten years until they closed. She loved babysitting, and also did some housekeeping over the years. Wilma was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she loved to play the piano for services. Prior to that she attended church at Antioch Christian Church in Everton, Missouri. Her boys recall that she was always active in their Boy Scout activities, a wonderful Den Mother. Going on road trips was one of her favorite things to do, and often she would take along her friends. She took care of several elderly folks, some of whom she also took on road trips. Wilma enjoyed Bible studies. She was a great woman of faith.
In addition to her parents Fred and Cordia, and her husband Wayne, Wilma was preceded in death by a grandson: Dustin M. Mallory.

Surviving Wilma are their three sons: Michael W. Mallory (wife Catherine) of Las Vegas, NV, Jarold Lee Mallory (wife Sallye) of Webb City, MO, and Thomas J. Mallory (wife Genee) of Columbus, KS; grandchildren: Zachary Mallory, Cory Mallory, Ethan Mallory, Nathan Hughes, Fina McKinney; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
