Linda Turner

Linda Turner, a cherished matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in her hometown of Carthage, Missouri, where she was also born on September 14, 1949 the daughter of the late Kenneth and Bertha (Chastine) Pennington. Linda's life was a testament to the power of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering love, which she generously bestowed upon all who were blessed to know her.

Linda's journey began as the beloved daughter of the Pennington family in Carthage, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of her siblings. Also, her brothers Kenny, Sherman, and Arlie Pennington, as well as her sisters Alma and Karen Lewis, predeceased her, their shared memories continued to light her path throughout her life. Her brother Jim Pennington remains to honor Linda's legacy, a testament to the enduring bonds of family.








As a devoted homemaker, Linda poured her heart into creating a nurturing home for her children, who were the center of her world. Her love and guidance along with her life partner Gary Garner shaped the lives of Ann Sivewright (Tony) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Cliff Turner (Julie) of Carthage, Missouri; Billy Turner (Cindi) of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; Wayne Tullis of Carthage, Missouri; and Royal Nash Turner Jr. of Wisconsin. Linda's legacy is further celebrated by her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, each a sparkling reflection of her spirit and values.

Linda's life was characterized by the simple joys that create the tapestry of a life well-lived. She found pleasure in watching television, a pastime that allowed her moments of relaxation and connection with the stories of others. However, her greatest joy was undoubtedly the time spent with her family and friends. Each moment was an opportunity to share her love and to create memories that her loved ones will treasure forever.








Those who knew Linda will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her gentle presence was a source of comfort and strength, and her ability to listen and care made her a friend to many.
