Katrina Frossard

Katrina Swan Frossard, age 72, Joplin, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Landmark Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Frossard was born January 24, 1943 in Step Rock, Arkansas to Olean LeRoy Soles and Mary Jane Comstock Soles and had lived in Joplin since 1965.

She worked at the former St. John’s Regional Medical Center for over 28 years working as a nurse aid, unit secretary and in security as a dispatcher.

Katrina enjoyed spending quiet time with her family; fishing at Grand Lake and crocheting. She was veteran of the United States Army.

She married Lloyd Frossard on June 12, 1963 in Maryland. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Patti Judy and her husband, Jamie, Joplin; one granddaughter, Ashley Cook and her husband, Scott, Bentonville, Arkansas; her mother, Mary Jane Soles, Joplin; two sisters, Pat Mercer, Webb City, Lola Wyatt and her husband, Jack, Jonesboro, Arkansas; four brothers, Jim Soles and his wife, Diane, Fairview Heights, Illinois, Roger Soles and his wife, Lynn, Texas, Paul Soles and his wife, Becky, Galena, Kansas, Randy Soles and his wife, Diane, Newtonia, Kansas; great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Brayden; step grandchildren, Nickolus, Garrett, Hannah; and extended grandchildren, Matthew family of LaRussell.

She is preceded in death by her father, Olean Soles and grandmother, Lola McClean.

Services are planned for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Interment will follow at Stone Cemetery, East of Joplin. Pallbearers will be Jim Soles, Roger Soles, Paul Soles, Randy Soles, Jamie Judy and Josh Soles. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Danny Crane

Danny R. Crane, age 61, Joplin, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home after an illness.

Danny was born April 9, 1953 in Joplin, son of the late Everett R. Crane and Lois Howard Crane. He graduated from Joplin High School, and worked for American Fibrex for 22 years before retiring. He was also a member of the local boilermakers union for 22 years. In his free time Danny loved the outdoors, especially fishing.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Crane, and his sisters, Sue Graves, Mary Johnson, and Judy Hogue.

Survivors include his wife, Leah Alleger Crane; sons, Danny Crane, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Jacksonville, Florida, and Michael Alleger of Joplin; brothers, Everett Crane and Bob Crane and wife Karen; sister, Mabel Lindquist all of Joplin; 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with cremation to follow.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Ava Goodpasture

Ava Marie Goodpasture, age four weeks, became one of God’s Little Angels on Friday April 3, 2015, following complications from birth, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. 

She was born on March 5, 2015. She is survived by her mother, Brenna Goodpasture, Webb City, Mo.; her father, Peyton Clemmons; Webb City, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Tina Schmidt, Webb City, Mo.; maternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Schmidt, Carla Schwabauer, Joyce Goodpasture and the late Leonard Goodpasture; paternal grandparents, Kassie and Tony King; and paternal great-grandfather, Ed Clemons. 

Memorial Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Mike Hensley, officiating. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.

Jerry Bruffey

Jerry Gean Bruffey, age 75 of Joplin, Mo entered his eternal home on Monday April 6, 2015 at NHC Healthcare following an extensive battle with brain tumors. 

He was born on June 10, 1939 in Lamar, Mo the son of Claude and Dorothy “Lucas” Bruffey. Jerry married his wife of 52 years, Maxine Winningham Bruffey on September 2, 1962 in Fredonia, Ks, and she survives. Jerry worked as a shoe repairman for Devore’s Western Wear for 18 years. He also worked at Danel’s Feed and Farm Supply for 19 years as a warehouse manager, and Champion Feed for 9 years. For most of his adult life Jerry owned and operated his own cleaning service working most recently at Charles Burt Realtors for 21 years. He was a long time member of the 2nd Assembly of God Church in Joplin. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include his wife Maxine of the home, two daughters: Tammy Woodward and husband Dan of Joplin, Mo and Tracy Kirkpatrick and husband Marc of Colombia, Mo; five grandchildren: Austin Woodward of Carl Junction, Mo., Coltin Woodward of Joplin, Mo., and Anna, Katie and Hope Kirkpatrick of Columbia, Mo.; three sisters Glenola Sutherland and husband Harvey, Darlene Sitton, and Martha Bruffey, all of Lamar, Mo; two brothers: Wayne Bruffey and wife Reta of Everton, Mo and Keith Bruffey and wife Doddie of Yorktown, Va; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to give a special thanks to NHC Healthcare as well as Avalon Hospice for the love and care they provided to Jerry. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday April 9, 2015 at the 2nd Assembly of God Church in Joplin, Mo with Pastor John Veazey officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, Mo. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

Vona Cooper

Vona Jean Cooper, 78, Neosho, died April 1, 2015 at Granby House Nursing Home, following a short illness. 

Vona was born March 28, 1937 in Manton, Michigan and moved to the Southwest Missouri area in the early 1970’s from Arizona. Vona was a homemaker and her family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Ritchey Baptist Church. 

Vona married Elmer Eugene Cooper on May 13, 1957 in Muskegon, Michigan and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2010. She is survived by five children, Carol Jean Clang and husband, Gary of Carthage; Charles Raymond Cooper and wife, Leanne and John Allan Cooper of Granby; Timothy Martin Cooper and David Wesley Cooper of Neosho; three sisters, Neoma Hayes of Michigan; Phyllis Davis of Texas and Geri Swarts and husband, Jack of Michigan; one brother, Harold Smith of Utah; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Roxanne Gunn; her parents and three sisters.

Faye Davis

Faye Marie Davis, age 87, Joplin, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her home after a sudden illness.

Faye was born June 7, 1927 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma to the late Tom Richie and Bobbie Dickerson Richie.

A homemaker, she was a proud member of the Democratic National Party and a longtime member of Esther Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

She married Theodore Lee Davis on August 8, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her children; Roy Walker, Roger Walker, Mitchell Stokes; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her children, Gale Miller, Richmond, Texas, Loretta Coburn, Carl Junction, Ray Walker, San Antonio, Texas, Patrick Walker, Springfield, Rebecca Cariglietti, Carl Junction; siblings, Jim Richie, Lawrence, Kansas, Velma Icardy, Terrell, Texas, Clark Richie, Jay, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Faye has been taken for cremation. Private family services are being planned for a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Cindy Nally

Cindy Nally, age 54, Joplin, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home after an illness.

Cindy was born September 10, 1960 in Joplin to the late Jim Stevens, Jr. and Doris J. England Stevens and had was a lifetime Joplin resident.

She was a homemaker and loved her family very much.

She is survived by her husband, Randy; two daughters, Lisa M. Stevens, Webb City, Echo R. Stevens, Joplin; a son, Randy Stevens, Joplin; four sisters, Mary Michaud and her husband, Philip, Joplin, Connie Miller and her husband, Rick, Carthage, Linda Johnson and her husband, Greg, Webb City, Misty Seeley and her husband, Rick, Oronogo; and many nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Cooper, Bonnie Stevens; one brother, Jimmy Stevens, Jr.; and a grandson, Byron Lee Stevens.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Rev. Bobby Cooper will officiate. Interment of ashes will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
