Jim Crocker

James M. “Jim” Crocker, 69, Carthage, MO, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2018 at his home with family by his side. Jim was born July 22, 1949 in Carthage, MO to the late James LeRoy Crocker and Donna Anne (Pfenninger) Crocker.

Jim graduated from Carthage High School, class of 1967, then received his BS degree in business from MSSC. Jim married Lois Jean Ball on July 31, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage, MO; she survives.

Jim began his career in 1966 with Leggett & Platt, which included managing Florida plants, being director of government sales, and VP of sales at ICF, a division of Leggett & Platt, before retiring in 2008.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Crocker, one daughter, Megan Scott (Josh), Carthage, MO; one son, Matthew Crocker, Carthage, MO; two brothers, David L. Crocker (Debbie), Joplin, MO, and Dan A. Crocker (Michaelle), Bella Vista, AR; three sisters, Mary Jane Shewmake (Rick), Overland Park, KS, Sue Hess, Carthage, MO, and Nancy Ellis (Doug), Camdenton, MO; and two grandchildren, Maddison and Brecklynn.

Jim took great pleasure in being a member of the Kool Koffee Klub. He also was proud and honored to be president of the Kellogg Lake board, which sponsored the annual Kids Fishing Day.

Visitation will be held 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Nazarene Church, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Nazarene Church. Interment will follow the service at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Rev. Ron Franklin and Pastor Dustin Ledford will officiate. Memorial gifts are suggested to ALS Association in care of Knell Mortuary.
