Marvin Haase

Marvin C. Haase passed away on August 28, 2018 at home while watching his beloved Cardinals.

Marvin was born November 26, 1930 in Joplin to the late Max H. and Minnie Studyvin Haase. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Delmar Haase, Max Haase II; and sister, Martha Daggett and Annabelle Sill.

Marvin and Thelma Joy Sadler were married August 15, 1951. To this union were born, Kathleen McCracken and husband, David, Debra Kennedy and husband, Chuck, Mark Haase and wife, Dana. Thelma passed away on October 15, 1999.

Marvin married Nadine (Billie) Spears on November 25, 2000. She survives. With the marriage, Marvin gained three daughters, Cynthia Hood, Carolyn Spears and husband, Gary Parker, and the late Mary Roche.

Marvin graduated from Joplin High School in 1949. He started his career as a third generation electrician on January 15, 1950 by joining I.B.E.W. Local #95. Over the years, he taught many apprentice electricians through Local #95, including his grandson, Ryan McCracken.

Marvin worked as a master electrician for 20 years at Industrial Electric in Joplin. He was hired at F.A.G. Bearings in Joplin in February of 1970, becoming the second American employee. He retired as supervisor of electricians and maintenance in 1993.

Marvin attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Joplin. He was a member of Elk's Lodge #501 for many years. Marvin served in the Missouri National Guard from 1948 until 1962, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant E8.

In addition to his wife and children, Marvin is survived by a sister, Darlene LaGasse; grandchildren, Ryan McCracken, Jason McCracken, Holly Ansley, Tyler Haase, Lucas Kennedy, Baker Bibb, Stephanie Allen, William Roche, Katelyn Roche, Madeline Parker; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren with another due in November and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
