Juanita Richards

Juanita M. Richards, age 72, of Sarcoxie, Mo. passed away at 9:54 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Joplin. Juanita was born May 4, 1946 in rural Carthage, Mo, and had lived in the Carthage area all her life. Juanita worked for Schreiber Foods in Carthage for 38 years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of Diamond Grove Christian Church, and active with the Women’s Ministry.

Juanita married Carlos Richards August 13, 1964 in Springfield, Mo. and he survives. Additional survivors include a son, Michael Richards (Susan), Sarcoxie, Mo., a brother, Hyrl Lown (Janice), Carthage, Mo., a sister, Alice Hammond (George), Carthage, Mo., 7 grandchildren; Colton and Cassidy Richards, Matthew and Makayla Borders, Logan Vaughan, and Joel and Stephanie Goettel, and one great granddaughter Arya Borders and a great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Beth Goettel, and her parents, Bill and Wanda Lown.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Kurt Fluharty, and Bob Heath, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fidelity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
