Ken Rushing

(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)

William “Ken” Rushing, 64, of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away suddenly on August 6, 2018.

Ken was born July 29, 1954 in Newton, Kansas to H. K. “Pete” Rushing and June (Sooter) Rushing. He was a graduate of Albertville High School in Albertville, Alabama, and attended Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ken was united in marriage to Kathy (Odum) Rushing on May 25, 1979, together sharing 39 years. He attended Standing At The Cross Church in Sarcoxie and proclaimed his salvation through Jesus Christ, serving Him fervently. He was an avid fisherman, and owner of Rushing Tire and Auto business of Sarcoxie. He was a leader in his family and highly respected and loved by many. Ken had many attributes including Christ follower, devoted and protective husband, caring father, involved grandfather, devoted son, loving brother, and a faithful friend. Ken was a peacemaker, a problem solver and his influence on those in his life have made us better. Ken made everyone he met feel important, and was a teacher of the true way to care for aging parents. His sense of humor and uncanny wit was amazing! He had a beautiful singing voice and we have no doubt he is singing to the Lord this day.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother, June (Sooter) Rushing.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathy (Odum) Rushing; children, son Kyler Rushing and wife Kandy, parents of William Otto and Hooper Jack, daughter Kelly Rushing; and grandsons William Ethan, Karter Von and Brooks Warren; his father, Hilman “Pete” Kenneth Rushing; sisters Rowena (Rushing) Farley and Husband Philip, and Rhonda (Rushing) Seaton and husband Steve; along with many nieces and nephews.

Our family will miss him greatly, and are determined to “press on to the Prize set before us.” Philippians 3:14.
