Loretta Ann Heltzel, age 81 of Oronogo, Mo. passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her home following an illness.
Loretta was born on December 12, 1936 in Leadville, Co., the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Cochran) Crowder. She has been a resident of the area for a good portion of her life, also living in Bossier City, La. from 1983 to 2017, when she moved to Oronogo. Loretta was a certified and registered housekeeper, working as a commercial housekeeper until she retired in 1988. She was a member of American Business Women and the National Executive Housekeeping Association. She was also a life-long member of the VFW Auxiliary, currently #2590 in Carthage, Mo.
She married Clarence F. Heltzel on June 11, 1955, he survives. Additional survivors include two sons; Larry Heltzel and wife Beth of Joplin, Mo., Mark Heltzel and wife Pamela of Webb City, Mo., a daughter; Valorie Peavy and husband Jeff of Allen, Tx., a sister; Beverly Buck of Bossier City, La., seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Tom Crowder, Jack Crowder and Jim Crowder, and an adopted brother, Homer Eckstrom.
Loretta is to be taken for cremation with the family to hold a memorial at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Greenwood Baptist Church.
