Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Heman, 76, of LaRussell, Missouri passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Larry entered this life on March 24, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri to the union of the late Arthur and Loretta (Wagner) Heman. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School and also attended S.M.S. He was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Osborn Heman, the loving mother of his children. She preceded him in death on December 22, 1993. On December 31, 1994 he was united in marriage to Linda Whitehead Heman, together they shared twenty four years. He retired from insurance sales and an independent agent. Larry was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie and St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage. He was a past City Alderman and Lions Club member. He enjoyed golfing, watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Kathryn Osborn Heman; brother, Kenneth Heman, and sister, Delores Heman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Heman; children, Lisa Crowder and husband, Larry, of Jefferson City, Lance Heman and wife, Debbie, of Kansas City, Chris Heman of Arvada, CO, Laura Schuetz and husband, Todd, of Smithville, MO, Joel Heman and wife, Courtney, of Springfield, Chelsea Corp of Springfield and Chip Taylor and wife, Charlene, of Carthage; grandchildren, Bradley Crowder, Timothy Crowder and wife, Rachel, Christopher Crowder, Madison Heman, Harrison Heman, Gabriel Heman, Jared Heman, Kayla Heman, Kathryn Schuetz, Emily Schuetz, Lydia Schuetz, Noah Schuetz, Connor Heman, Parker Heman, Reilly Heman, Trevor Heman, Hannah Corp, Jack Corp and Owen Corp; great granddaughter, Harley Crowder; sister Emma Schmaderer and husband, Richard; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral mass for Mr. Heman was held Thursday, August 9, 2018, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, with Father J. Friedel officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers were Christopher Crowder, Timothy Crowder, Harrison Heman, Jack Corp, Mike Heman and Bruce Heman. Honorary pallbearers were Bradley Crowder, Jared Heman, Gabriel Heman, Noah Heman, Owen Corp and Trevor Heman.
