Douglas Harold Sageser, age 67, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his home.
Douglas entered this life on March 29, 1951 in Joplin, Missouri to the union of Harold and Louise (Latimer) Sageser. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. On July 30, 1982 he was united in marriage to Carol Willis, sharing thirty six years. Douglas retired from Atlas Powder, ICI explosives in Joplin, Missouri. He served in the National Guard, Pierce City, for several years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Douglas enjoyed fishing, hunting, guns and gardening, as well as spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Sageser.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; children, Brian Dapkiewicz (Sherrie), of Topeka, KS, Heather Collard (Justin) of Oronogo and Travis Sageser (Kristin) of Sarcoxie; grandchildren, Brenen, Hanna and Hope Dapkiewicz, Taylor and Hayley Powell, Chloe and Quinn Collard, Caleb Phillips, Kinsey and Katie "Lulu" Sageser; mother, Louise "Lou" Sageser, of Sarcoxie; sisters, Trudie Holland of Freistatt and Terrie Burris (Tom) of Monett; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; his little dog, Cheyenne; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Sageser will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Cave Springs Cemetery, Sarcoxie with Reverend Wil Meyer officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Mike Chandler, Chris Feather, Bruce Lambeth, Dave Patton, Grant Tollefson and Sam Huckaby.
