Myrtle E. “Beth” Jones, 94, Bronaugh, MO passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a brief illness. Beth was born May 13, 1924 in Pittsburg, KS to Edgar and Mary Agnus (McNamara) Carter. She was united in marriage to Norman Jones on June 30, 1942 in Arizona and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2011.
Beth was raised in the Pittsburg and Mindenmines area. She graduated from Mindenmines High School in 1942. Beth lived all of her adult life in Bronaugh. She taught in the Bronaugh School District for 15 years. Beth enjoyed square dancing and was member of the Mo-Kan Squares. Other memberships included Eastern Star in Nevada and Bronaugh Methodist Church. She also enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Coonrod and her husband Bill, Bronaugh, Jacque Gordon and her husband Rick, Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Michael Kabonic and his wife Katie, Christopher Kabonic, and Michael Coonrod, all of Springfield, MO; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn, and Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August, 18, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Ed Post officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
