Bob Wolf

Robert “Bob” Charles Wolf age 85, Oronogo, passed away at 7:40 p.m. August 20, 2018 at Mercy Hospital.

Bob was born January 17, 1933 in Salem, Arkansas to the late Ed Wolf and Virgie Tracy Wolf.

Bob graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1954 with a B.S.E. After graduating he married his college sweetheart, Grace Helen Blake on Nov. 3, 1954 in Plainview Arkansas. After college he served in the United States Army and was honorably discharge to continue his education.Bob continued his education at West Texas State where he received his masters degree and went on to be a successful basketball coach and moved up to school administration. He then went on to continue his education at George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee where he received a Doctorate in Education.

Bob moved to Joplin in 1972 and was Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education for the Joplin schools for 16 years. After retiring he spent 30 years in the cattle business. He loved being on the farm raising cattle with his wife Helen. He invested his time with his children, grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. He stayed active in his community with regular coffee with his friends at the local Quaker Mill store. He was a devoted member in the United Methodist Church and participated in many volunteer activities.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wolf a son, Blake Wolf and two brothers, James and John Wolf.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Oldham and husband, Bill, Rogers, Arkansas, Leaha Johnson and husband, David, Webb City; daughter-in-law, Paula Wolf, Carl Junction; a sister, Louise Welch, Salem; grandchildren, Austin Wolf and wife, Kendal, Webb City, Jonathan Johnson and wife, Rachel, Nixa, Paul Oldham and wife, Gyo Mendez, Kansas City, Matthew Johnson and wife, Kassie, Oronogo, Aaron Oldham and wife, Amanda, Raleigh, North Carolina, Sam Wolf, Kansas City, Joe Wolf, Carl Junction, Lauren Wolf and husband, Isaac, McKinney, Texas, Luke Oldham and wife, Katy, Kansas City; and great grandchildren, Ian, Weston, Carter, Brinkly, Jordan, Owen, Gaige, Gabe, Grayson, Carson and Kensley.

Services are planned for Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association Mid America Chapter, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
