Sherman F. Ball, 82, Carl Junction, MO, formerly of Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest August 15, 2018 at Joplin Gardens after an illness.
Sherman Ford Ball was born May 7, 1936 in Seneca, MO the son of Sherman F. Ball Sr. and Nadine (Leader) Ball. Sherman served the Missouri National Guard and formerly worked for the Joplin Police Department as a K-9 officer. He formerly was the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Joplin. He was a member of the Joplin Lions Club and First Baptist Church in Seneca where he served as a Deacon for 10 years. Sherman taught Sunday School for over 20 years. He formerly lead the Ball Family Quartet.
Sherman Ford Ball married Ona Mae Hunt May 31, 1956 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Pamela J. Ball, Carl Junction, MO; two sons, Jeremy R. Ball, Perkins, OK and Jeff S. Romero, Nixa, MO; one brother Danny R. Ball, Joplin; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Nadine Ball; one daughter, Debra Lynn Spencer; one sister Vicki Lou Massey and one brother, Steve Ball.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Seneca, MO with Bro. Aaron Weibel officiating. Burial will be in the Belfast Cemetery West of Neosho, MO with Nathan Daggett, Corey Ball, Kaleb Romero, Jake Romero, Andrew Romero and Brian Massey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Ritter, Ramon Money, Buster Fritchey, Stan McCarthy, Wilber Berry, Clayton Monterey, Corky Mills and Colby Ball.
