(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Lynne Anne Hardman, age 72, passed away at 9:08 pm, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Lynne was born September 6, 1950, in Torrance, Ca. Her parents were Charles Howard and Elizabeth Anne (Jones) Thompson. While a Senior in high school, she moved to Anchorage Alaska for one year, graduating there in 1968 before returning to her home in California.
She moved to Galena from Torrance in 1993 and for the past 30 years, she has been active in community activities. She served as a city council member and was a former Mayor of Galena. She was a past vice president of the Chamber of Commerce.
She was also the administrator of the annual Spring Fling car show in Galena for several years. She attended the Galena Assembly of God. She enjoyed reading, fishing, doing yardwork and working on cars, but her greatest interest was her grandkids.
She married Darcy C Hardman on July 2, 1971, in Torrance. He survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Charles Howard Hardman (Amy), Joplin, MO; one daughter, Bree Anne Cook (Ken), Joplin; 4 grandchildren, Tyler Hardman, Alexandra Newman, McKayla Hart, and Liliana Caudill; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Jim Jones will officiate. The burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the funeral home.
