(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Carl Anson Jeffreys, of Arcola, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in his home at the age of 88.
He was born on February 18, 1935 in Carthage, MO to Troy and Nora (Ellis) Jeffreys. Carl served his country in the United States Air Force for 13 years. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Helen Burton on October 4, 1974 in Stotts City, MO.
Carl was a member of the Arcola Baptist Church where he loved to sing. He enjoyed gardening and giving his watermelons and cantaloupes away. Carl also found joy in checking on his cows, and he took pride in manicuring his lawn.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Troy and Nora Jeffreys; three brothers, Lloyd Jeffreys, Edward Jeffreys, and Charles Jeffreys; and three sisters, Catherine McCrea, Edna Kissinger, and Zetta Jeffreys.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jeffreys of the home; three sons, Ron Jeffreys and wife Monda of Arcola, MO, Scott Jeffreys of Arcola, MO, and Joshua Jeffreys and wife Amber of Battlefield, MO; one daughter, Kim Herndon of Arcola, MO; four grandchildren, Paul Jeffreys and wife Krista, Brian Netzer, Joseph Netzer and wife Diamond, and Grace Jeffreys; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Jeffreys and wife Princess and Noah Jeffreys; and one great-great-grandchild, Haze Jeffreys.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Arcola Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Achord Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Arcola Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arcola Baptist Church. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
