Myrna Browning

Myrna Faye (Wilder) Browning, born March 30, 1939, in Borger, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Carl L. Wilder and Selma M. Wilder and the cherished sister of Stan Wilder, who preceded her in death.

Myrna was a dedicated homemaker who created a warm, loving environment for her family. She was married to Kenneth V. Whitmire and later to Galen B. Browning, both of whom also preceded her in death. 






Myrna is survived by her daughters, Cathy L. Bay and husband Vernon, and Cindy A. Daugherty and husband Mark, and Son, Todd Whitmire. She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and had numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

A woman of profound faith, Myrna had a deep love for Jesus Christ and was devoted to studying God’s Word. She actively served with Gideon's International and was instrumental in establishing a jail ministry, always seeking to advance God's Kingdom. Myrna was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Neosho, Missouri, where she found joy in singing with the Joy Singers.

In addition to her commitment to her family and faith, Myrna had a passion for needlework, often creating beautiful pieces that reflected her love and care for those around her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.








Pallbearers will include Joshua Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Brian Daugherty, Michael Daugherty, Alan Daugherty, Nicona Jordan, BJ Jordan, Derek Bunch, and Neal Wicks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gideon's International or Open Door's Foundation, organizations that were close to Myrna’s heart.

Myrna will be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
