(From Clark Funeral Home)Calvin Glenn Herrin, a cherished member of the community, quietly passed away on October 23, 2024, surrounded by love and peace in Goodman, MO. Born on June 10, 1931, Calvin was a devoted husband to Barbara Tennison and a loving father to his son, Steve Herrin.
Through his tenure at McDonald County Telephone, where he served as a respected superintendent for over six decades, Calvin fostered lasting relationships which extended beyond the workplace, creating a second family among his colleagues. In addition to his dedicated work life, Calvin was an esteemed member of the Goodman First Baptist Church, where he not only held a position as a founding member of the bus ministry but also served as a bus driver, touching the lives of many through his kindness and generosity.
Known for his unwavering commitment to both his family and community, Calvin cherished his role as a grandfather, finding immense joy in the presence of his grandson, Sam Herrin, great grandchildren Austin Herrin, Madison Townsend and husband Isaac, Colton Herrin and fiancé Valerie, and great-great granddaughter Maisyn Townsend, with another one on the way. He took great pride in his family, finding solace in their love and support during his life.
Calvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, his parents, sisters Betty and Shirley, and brother JD. Calvin is survived by his son Steve and daughter-in-law, Jean of Neosho, grandson Sam Herrin of Goodman, great-grandchildren Austin Herrin of Goodman, Madison Townsend and husband Isaac, Goodman, Colton Herrin and fiancé Valerie of Goodman, great-great granddaughter Maisyn Townsend, Goodman, Sister-in-law Pat Tennison of Kansas City, numerous nieces and nephews and his second family at McDonald County Telephone Company.
The life of Calvin Herrin will be honored in a visitation on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri. His funeral service, officiated by Mark Hall, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Goodman First Baptist Church, where he devoted so much of his time and energy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Goodman First Baptist in memory of Calvin’s enduring legacy of service and compassion.
As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember his warm presence, his compassionate heart, and the profound impact he made on all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Calvin Herrin will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were touched by his spirit.
